Where:  Tiburon Yacht Club  (400 Trinidad Dr, Tiburon)

What:  Your choice of competitive tournament play (four Mah Jongg games per hour) – or open mahj play (for social players, no scoring, no time limits).  Lots of fun!  Lunch from Boudin Bakery is included (your choice of Asian Chicken Salad or Spring Salad).

Why:  The Longest Day (or summer solstice) is the day with the most light. It’s also a great time to help the Alzheimer’s Association fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s (and all other dementia) by raising funds for dementia research.  

Cost:  Total cost is $60. This includes a $40 registration fee (payable online to the Tiburon Yacht Club), plus a separate $20 check (payable to the Alzheimer’s Association) that players will bring to the event on June 17. (This $20 charitable contribution is a suggested minimum. Please feel free to donate a larger amount, if you’d like.) 

Prizes:  There will be door prizes for all – plus cash prizes for the tournament (only).  Tournament play will be structured as three separate mini-tournament rounds (with four games each). For each of the three rounds, a $50 cash prize will be awarded to the highest-scoring player. (In the event of a tie, prizes will be split.) Players can choose to play in as many of the three mini-tournament rounds as they like. (If you need to leave early, that’s okay. You can still compete in the earlier rounds.)

Schedule:  Check-in starts at 11:30 a.m.  Lunch is at noon. Tournament Round 1 will start at approximately 1 p.m (or possibly a bit earlier).  Tournament Round 2 will start at approximately 2:05 p.m.  Tournament Round 3 will start at approximately 3:10 p.m., ending 60 minutes later.  Social play continues throughout.  

Don’t forget:  to bring your NMJL card and your check ($20 minimum) to the Alzheimer’s Association. Carpooling is highly recommended, if possible.

The Tiburon Yacht Club has generously waived their clubhouse rental fee — in support of our efforts to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.  With gratitude for the Tiburon Yacht Club’s generosity, a small portion of the net proceeds from the registration fee will be donated to the Tiburon Yacht Club’s capital improvement fund.
