Cruise News                                       February 2008

It’s February…so let’s Cruise!

The cruising schedule for 2008 is firming up and we’ve got a lot of fun to look forward to this season. Look for it under the new “Cruise” tab on the TYC website within the next couple of days. A new feature that will help all of us keep organized is the ability to sign-up for a cruise, see who else is going, plan ahead, or even offer space for a boatless cruiser to join you – all right from the Web!
Here are a few words about what’s coming up in the next couple of months:

Upcoming Cruises

Sweetheart Chocolate Cruise to Emery Cove (February 22 – 24)

February’s cruise theme centers around Valentines Day (what else?) and of course chocolate! What
better way to celebrate than a cruise to Emeryville and a personalized tour of one of Emeryville’s
best-kept secrets -- the Charles Chocolate factory! Highlights include:
• Cruise into Emery Cove Yacht Harbor on Friday February 22.
• The Charles chocolate tour and optional chocolate tasting is on Saturday the 23rd at 2:30 PM. More information at:
http://www.charleschocolates.com/
• We will have access to the Emeryville Yacht Club at the harborand are planning a cocktail hour with them.
• A free shuttle is available http://www.emerygoround.com/ with nearby stops for the shoppers and
explorers in the group.
We are finalizing plans for some special dinners on Friday and Saturday. There are some terrific nearby restaurants including Trader Vics, Chevys, and more.

We have a SWEET cruise planned; we hope you can join us!

Mustard Festival Cruise to Napa (March 14 – March 16)

What better ways to celebrate California’s agricultural and cultural bounty, than a spring cruise to the Napa Valley Yacht Club? In celebration of the mustard season people come from all over to taste mustards from around the world and sip a few Napa Valley wines at The Marketplace ~ A Signature Event for Connoisseurs on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, 11am to 5pm at COPIA. COPIA is Julia Child’s food museum, which hosts this event each year. COPIA is within walking distance from the Yacht Club so it will be easy access to the fun. Activities include fine arts and crafts presented by juried artists and artisans, and live performances of jazz, world, and classical music.

There is one catch….tickets for this event are at a premium so you may want to purchase them now. Look for updates in email and on the TYC Website about this cruise.

Oh, and one more thing…due to the fact that the festival is on the same date (March 15th) as TYC’s
St. Paddy’s Day party, we had to schedule both events. Sorry for that, and we’ll no doubt miss seeing
some of you….oh well!

See you on the water!
