Suggestions!

Welcome to the new cruising Web pages for the Tiburon Yacht Club!

Every month TYC boats head out for San Francisco Bay Area destinations in an organized club cruise. Locations range from nearby yacht clubs, the Delta, and an opportunity to join a very special trip that heads up to the Pacific Northwest for an unforgettable cruise in the beautiful San Juan and Gulf Islands. All in all, 2008 looks to be another exciting year for TYC cruising.

The weekend cruises often head to more distant locations like Benicia, Petaluma,  up the Napa River or even out the 'Gate. Our annual Summer Cruise finds TYC members enjoying the warmer weather and water of the Delta for seven or eight relaxing days away from the usual crush of boats on the bay.

The annual cruising schedule is published at the beginning of each year and is updated continuously, so it¹s easy to plan your participation in advance. A cruise leader is assigned for each trip and you'll find them well prepared with information about the destination, tides, charts what to do when you get there and readily available to all details. To get involved just pick a trip (or two) and sign up on the monthly cruise registration which is posted on the bulletin board in the Club and emailed to members. This year we'll also post the schedule and allow signups right from this website (see the "2008 Cruise Calendar" for cruise details and signup form.)

The essence of TYC cruising is to have fun and enjoy the friendship of fellow boaters. Some yacht clubs we'll visit will host dinners for us and sometimes we organize pot-luck and restaurant events. Whatever the plan, be prepared for a good time and lots of new adventures!

Although most TYC cruisers take their own boat, some members choose to buddy boat or crew on a more experienced boat in the beginning, and there are always some "land cruisers" who drive their rubber tired craft to join in the fun. If you need a "ride", look on this website under 'Cruise List' for boats offering space and cruisers seeking to cruise with others. Bottom line is however you arrive, we'll guarantee you'll have fun.

Happy Cruising, and see you on the water!
